Derek Rude is the Global Information Security and Risk Manager for Halliburton. With more than 15 years of security and audit experience, Rude is responsible for information security strategy, architecture and operations. He provides award winning eDiscovery and investigation services to internal customers. Rude also participates in Microsoft’s Chief Security Officer Council and Symantec’s Executive Customer Advisory Council.

Prior to this role, Rude was a Security Program Manager at Hewlett Packard/Compaq. He also worked at KPMG, where he provided security and audit services to a variety of customers. Rude served as a Navy Officer where he was responsible for secure communications. He has a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, and is currently working on a M.B.A.
