Zahid Afzal is a 26-year veteran in the information technology field with both national and international management experience. Afzal joined Huntington National Bank as Executive Vice President/Chief Information Officer last year. He transitioned into this role through Sky Financial Group's acquisition where he was responsible for the company's IT organization.

Prior to joining Sky Financial Group, Afzal worked as the Technology Executive (CIO) for the Consumer Banking division of Bank of America. He was the CIO for Broadslate Networks, where he was responsible for aligning and implementing technology that was required to support growing business needs. Afzal was also responsible for designing and developing the Broadband network and associated products. Afzal also served as Vice President of eCommerce and Customer Care Solutions at Citicorp. Prior to that, he worked as a senior IT manager at MCI in various capacities. Before MCI, Zahid was a consultant to various government agencies in Washington, D.C.

Afzal obtained his Bachelor's of Science in Information Management from Strayer University, Washington, D.C. and his Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics from The University of Karachi, Pakistan. He is also an active member of his community and is a member of various professional and charitable organizations.
