Bio

Nick Bell serves as CIO of General Motors North America (GMNA). In this position, Bell has accountability for all information technology and systems for North American operations. Bell reports to Ralph Szygenda, GM Group Vice President and CIO, and Troy Clarke, President of GM North America and Group Vice President.

Bell joined GM from Volvo Car Corporation, where he was VP and CIO responsible for developing Volvo's overall global IT strategy, as well as implementing technology to align with the corporate objectives and create synergy with Ford Motor Company. Bell originally joined Ford Motor Company in the United Kingdom as a Systems Analyst for manufacturing systems, and progressed through a variety of leadership positions.

Bell holds a Ph.D. in engineering from London University. He earned a Master's degree from Imperial College of Sciences and Technology at London University where he also received his Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
