Since 2008, Theresa Wise has served as SVP and CIO at Delta Air Lines (following a seven-year stint as CIO of Northwest Airlines). As the airline industry faces unprecedented challenges, IT is increasingly a competitive differentiator. In her current role, Wise leads all technology development and IT operations for the airline. Over the past two years, she has been particularly focused on the IT changes necessary to bring Delta and NWA together for customers and colleagues alike.

Wise began with her work in the airline industry in 1990, building a mathematical model to optimize crew schedules. She has since held a variety of positions in fl ight operations, operations research, industrial engineering and IT/applications development.

A native Minnesotan, Wise graduated from St. Olaf College with a B.A. in Mathematics and Chemistry. She also holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Operations Research and Applied Math from Cornell University.

Wise is active in the community, particularly in the fi ne arts. She is a violinist with the Bloomington Symphony and has served on the board of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra and The Children’s Theatre.
